Micro Budgeting
Following on from the UK Film Council’s new
research report (June 2007) on Low and
Micro- Budget film production in the UK,
Emily Corcoran will be with us to give her
perspective as a film maker.
Micro budget filmmakers break rather than
follow the rules of conventional production.
They are using new digital tools that are
steadily and constantly evolving. At the
same time they are testing the limits of the
technology, they are also experimenting with
style and form and storytelling within the
constraints of a low budget. During this
session Emily will explore the process
involved in creating a micro budget film and
sources of finance available.
Emily Corcoran is from Cork Films and has
recently released her award-winning feature
film Sisterhood. For more information on

without the expense of hiring a graphic
artist
The taster session will cover the use of
Final Cut Pro (FCP) and Apples Motion as
well as touching on basic 3D animation and
visual effects to pull these sequences into
high impact pieces.
Knowledge of FCP or similar editing software
is required.

Social Networking for Filmmakers
This discussion explains how to begin using
social media and social/professional
networks to find an audience for your work,
and how to use the web as a primary method
of promoting and marketing film content to
exhibitors.
The pressure of competition for our time
means that filmmakers are obliged to put as
much of the available budget on screen as
possible. Little is left to woo exhibitors
and audiences. The new worldwide web is now
the more direct, immediate and
cost-effective marketing and publicity
channels. Using it requires a more direct
and upfront approach; cut through the noise,
attract attention to yourself and your
content, and engage with your audience.
To book your place on this FREE seminar you
must upload your CV, you can do this
here.
