2008 UH Digital Animation Exposé - 22nd May 2008



The UH Digital Animation Exposé (Film Day) is an annual event hosted at the University of Hertfordshire’s Weston Auditorium. Showcasing the best student films from the current academic year, this event also includes presentations from leading professionals in the animation, film and games industries. The student animated films are in heated competition for top prizes in 6 categories, one of which is awarded by audience voting.

About the event:

The event is divided into two halves. In the morning there will be talks and presentations from industry representatives. Last year included top industry professionals from The Mill, Double Negative, Glassworks and Saddington & Baynes

09:30 - Registration and Coffee reception

10:00 - Session 1

11:20 - Session 2
- Redvison - Chracter Animation Headcases

12:30 – Lunch

14:00 - Session 3
- Sony Computer Entertainment Europe
- Framestore - VFX Golden Compass

15:00 – Break

15:10 - UH Digital Animation Shorts Showcase

16:30 - Break for judging
17:00 - Film Day Awards Ceremony

(Exact times may vary on the day) In the afternoon there will be a student film showcase, containing only the very best 3D animated movies from UH graduating class and second year degree students. The industry judging panel will be awarding five awards, and the audience will be able to choose the sixth award winner by voting for their favourite.

This event is free and is being sponsored by FDMX; however pre-registration is advised as there are limited seats available.
